Meet the Model: Inna Georgia

Inna is brim full of vitality; even in email you get a shot of her boundless positive energy. We asked her 10 questions.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I am originally from Bulgaria. I moved to London three years ago to study Film Production however I've realised that being in front of the camera makes me more happy, so here I am!
When I'm not working, I'm usually catching up with friends or working out at the gym.

Who (or what) inspired you to become a model?

The fact that you get to travel a lot and work with many creative people.

What are your best beauty secrets?

Natural remedies! Home made products...and sun? :)

If you could only pick one outfit to wear for the rest of the year, what would you pick?

It would probably be a summer dress (If the weather permits!).

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

a holiday.

What do you do in your spare time?
I probably have too many hobbies to share them all, but if I have to pick one (other than travelling of course.. ;) ) it would have to be dancing! I love dancing! Sometimes when I'm alone at home I'd like to turn the music up and have my own little dance party.

Who is your favourite designer?

Do I have to pick only one? ...Mmm I can't decide.
It depends on what I'm buying.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?

Somewhere on a small tropical island probably.

What are the last three things you bought?

More books, Beach towel (as I'm going on holiday soon) and a hot yoga voucher :)

What are you currently reading?
The last book I read was Treasure Yourself by Miranda Kerr.
It's really warm and positive. She shares a lot of her own experiences, how she got there and what might be some of the challenges you have to face in this industry.
Otherwise I'm usually reading nutrition books or anything that I can learn from.

Tips on applying to be a model!

Here at RMG, we receive around 100 applications a day, so whilst it's important to stand out to us, it's also important to follow some simple steps to make your application most likely to be successful!

Filling out your application

1) Fill out your stats correctly- With your correct measurements, we instantly have a great idea of where you'll sit within our agency before we even get to your images.

2) Tell us about relevant modelling experience; We don't need to know that someone took a picture of you when you were drunk in Ibiza (and we definitely don't need to see that picture)

3)It's ok to have little (or no) experience. Often models have zero experience but we can see that they have the right look and/or right attitude to become a model just from their pictures.

Kirsty H- Commercial Female & Russell Short- Commercial Male

Uploading Images

1)Upload 3 different pictures- We ask for 3 so we can see a full range from you (e.g. one headshot, one body and one snapshot) We don't want the same picture 3 times!

2)Make sure you're fresh faced(little or no make-up) in at least one picture

3)Show us your experience- If you've mentioned in your application that you've done a photoshoot, we'd like to see images from that.

4)Show us at least one smiling picture- as a Commercial agency, a lot of our clients like to see a smiling picture, and so do we!

5)Give us a range of poses/faces to look at- This is your chance to show us what you can do, the bigger range you show us, the most likely you'll be accepted

 It's best to avoid

Props
- Screenshots of your Snapchat story
- Naked pictures
- Covering your face with hair or accessories!

Sit Back & Relax

Now you've completed the perfect application, just sit back and wait for us to respond. Maybe have a cup of tea, you earned it.
Also don't worry if you don't hear back immediately, we will get back to you!

Meet the Model: Sthefany Candido

Sthefany has that rare mix of striking beauty and sharp intelligence. Balancing her own consultancy website and modelling, she's always busy, but she found a few minutes to answer our 10 questions

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I am originally from Brazil, Rio de Janeiro. I have been living in London for seven years. I work as a model and I have an image consultancy company.

What inspired you to become a model?

Well, my mother got me into modelling at the age of seven, I have pretty much been doing it since. I would say she is definitely my main inspiration as she used to do it herself.

Although, my boyfriend has also been an important influence. He is a model himself and has done very important campaigns though out the years.  He pushed me to go back into modelling after I went on a long break...which I'm really glad he did. We even got to do a few jobs together which is a lot of fun :)

Who is your favourite designer?

At the moment I am a bit in love with Olivier Rousteing from Balmain.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever received?

A surprise trip to Paris.

What are your best beauty secrets?

Organic almond oil to moisturise the body and Argan oil to keep the hair soft and shiny.

Who’s your favourite Disney princess?

Belle!

What are your top 3 life goals?

Be around my family and people I love more often which is so difficult as they all live in different countries, travel the world,
& to keep fit and healthy.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?

Ideally I would love to live between London and Rio de Janeiro, That would be just perfection.

What are you currently reading?

The secret. I have actually read it before, but I love it! I always keep going back to it… I highly recommend it!

Which celebrity do you wish you were best friends with?

Beyonce, she is my favourite diva.

Meet the Model: Robert Seymour

Rob is one of our newest male models. He lives in Manchester, also works as a Personal Trainer and has an overwhelming instagram following of over 20 thousand! We asked him a few questions.

Tell us a bit about yourself?
I am originally from the countryside in Aberdeenshire,Scotland so coming to a city as big as Manchester was quite a change of scene! Fitness is a big part of my life and I have worked as a personal trainer for two years while completing my degree in Nutrition. The dream is to move to Australia, I am aiming to go for a year with one of my friends in July.

Who (or what) inspired you to become a model?
Well..my ex girlfriend was a model and after hearing about what the job involved I was intrigued and wanted to give it a try. I went to a few agencies and got a good response so it went from there!
What did you have for breakfast?
Greek yoghurt with fruit then boiled eggs with ham.
If you inherited an acre of land, what would you do with it?Build a swimming pool and grow my own vegetables.

What are you currently reading?
Linchpin by Seth Godin. A great book on business and loving what you do.
Who would play you in a film of your life?
Mans Zelmerlow - could probably pass as my older brother!
You have so many Instagram followers (21.2k)! How do you keep on top of it?
I generally try to be quite laid back with my Instagram and post whatever I'm feeling. Although I do try to post every day which can be a challenge sometimes.

Who is your favourite singer/band?
Very hard question. I love electronic music and at the moment I would probably say Applebottom, I don't think my neighbors are as big fans as me though ha..
Favourite holiday destination?
The greek islands for sure. I lived in Ios over the summer and loved it.
What would your superpower be?
To be able to time travel, it would be amazing to see what it was like living in another era.

Commercial Vs Editorial

We are primarily a Commercial modelling agency as opposed to an editorial agency, but what does that actually mean?

Editorial usually refers to big name models, Natasha Poly, Gisele Bundchen, Gigi Hadid etc. It refers to tall, slim, unique faces and within an editorial agency they are the wealth, which they find clients for. They shoot big ad campaigns, walk in fashion shows around the world and are the bigger names in fashion.
Lucky Blue Smith found fame through Instagram and is now one of the biggest editorial male models this season.

We operate mainly within the commercial category.
Across our 14 divisions we book a variety of work, including Print advertisements, TV shopping channels, hair & make up shoots, Fit models, fitness promos, trade shows and much more.

Our beautiful Simone Powderly

Where editorial models focus on becoming a brand and a recognised name, commercial models will work a multitude of clients and build a strong client-model relationship, which ensures the clients keep using them over and over again. In this way commercial modelling is more lucrative than editorial. You can be any height and size, all we want is a strong presence in front of the camera and a beautiful smile; sometimes we even focus on hairy arms for certain bookings!

Meet the Photographer: Garazi

Garazi is one of our fave affiliated photographers; she creates breath-taking bridal pictures and striking headshots, striving for perfection in every shoot. Based in Birmingham, we often advise our models to shoot with her to get stunning portfolio pictures that will make them stand out from the crowd.

We asked her a few questions

What made you become a photographer?
I picked up a camera at uni and haven’t been able to put it down since. It’s what I love doing, so I made it into my business and life.

Was it difficult getting this established?
A little difficult, but mainly time-consuming! As a photographer, you need to perfect your techniques and style, and get your work in front of your (future) clients. Most of my learning was trial and error and building a client base takes time too.

What do you love about your job?
I love a good face! Photographing beauty and skincare is definitely one of my favourite things.

Where is your favourite place to shoot?
I do love my studio with its HUUUUGE windows, but then it’s always exciting to shoot on location.

Has anything every gone terribly wrong on a shoot?
The time we ended up with 40 minutes to shoot 6 campaign shots (inside and out) and redo hair and make-up was a tough one… Somehow we managed it though!

Who is your favourite model?
I love Carmen Solomons’ wild features, Lily Cole’s pre-Raphaelite beauty, Jade Thompson’s freckled stunningness… I LOVE a redhead! But so many faces have something special...

What makes a memorable image?
I think a connection between the model and the camera is essential. But any shot you remember a couple years down the line is memorable. For me, it can be about the concept, the colours, the shapes...

What’s your favourite item of clothing?
Creepers/flatform shoes, I can shoot in them easier (as I’m always shorter than the model!).

Give us one piece of advice for people wanting to get into the industry
Be prepared to work hard and don’t get down by rejection!

Vogue 100

To Celebrate 100 years of British Vogue, the National Portrait Gallery are hosting an exhibition featuring some of the best prints and images that span across it's centennial history.

The collection starts from the first, beautiful paintings that predate the photographs, lovingly detailed drawings of ways to wear the new hat & the latest gowns from Paris, until the later 20s when the photograph became more common replaced them. However Vogue didn't let the escapism and beauty of the paintings go, ensuring that every photograph transports you into a different world

As a collection there is a great range of imagery; beautiful shots of celebrities, royalties and a wealth of Kate Moss pictures,
(weirdly not a single picture of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley!!)
And some fun unexpected pictures, (such as Grace Coddington in a swimming pool and Kate Moss almost unrecognisable riding naked on a horse!)

Possibly the easiest way to step into the life of Vogue for an hour or two, the exhibition is a must see for all fashion aficionados and models alike.

On at the National Portrait Gallery until 22nd May 2016
